Simple SEO Tips to Optimise Your Page for the Big 3

Bez kategorije nema komentara »

<![CDATA[Search Engine Optimisation is a big scary topic for a lot of people, but it doesn’t have to be. The principles behind it are all pretty simple, and these tips will take less than an hour to implement, but should boost your rankings significantly!

1-Don’t shoot for the moon. By that I mean don’t go out there and choose the most competitive keyword in your field. Chances are that the #1 ranked site for the most competitive term has been there for some years. Why should your site suddenly come along and oust them in short order? Instead, focus on longer, less competitive phrases. Use keyword selection tools to help you find them. You will find longtail phrases are more targeted also as it means the searchers have a more focused idea of what they are looking for.

2-Make sure you put your main keyword/phrase in the page title, and also in the footer. The title is the first thing the search engines will look at, so it’s important to let them know exactly what we are about as early as possible, and it’s also good to make the main phrase the last thing they see. A fundamental tip, but something 99% of webmasters do not do.

3-Switch your navigation. Most web pages have the navigation bars on the left or along the top. This is not good from an SEO point of view. Search engines read pages in vertical strips, starting on the left, then gradually moving across. The problem that the navigation presents is that 98% of web navigation menus are the same or very similar-this means that with the navigation in the same place as everyone else’s, we are telling the engines that our web site is the same as everyone else’s. They will see our super relevant page title, and then read our navigation links, which are not likely to be keyword relevant at all, and then conclude that this site is not all that relevant to their beloved searchers, and consign it to page 558 or something. This is NOT what we want! If we put the navigation on the right instead, we can then put lots of interesting content on the left, so it’s the first thing they see after they read our page title.

4-Make sure your content is original, and READABLE. Who stays on a website after they realise the content is nothing but keyword stuffed garbage? I certainly don’t, and neither will your customers. It’s very important that your keywords are in your content, but make sure it’s in a relevant fashion-I think the best term I have heard for it is “sprinkled.” Sprinkle the keywords through the content of the page. It’s also useful to embolden them occasionally and italicise them, as the search engines then assume they are important words regarding your site and content, which is exactly what we want them to think.

5-Use the heading tags,

etc. That’s what they are there for, and yes the search engines do pay attention to them. It’s especially useful if you can use your main keywords as headings, or part of headings. For example, if your site is about extreme skydiving techniques, your heading may be “My favourite extreme skydiving techniques” or something like that. A good technique in certain cases is to combine two phrases, but you need to be careful as you don’t want to damage the readability of the phrase- For example, you may have “Top Rated Extreme Skydiving Techniques” as a heading if your targeted phrases were “extreme skydiving techniques” and “top rated skydiving techniques,” and you would likely get ranked for both these phrases from doing that. Be careful though, as it’s easy to get carried away and reduce the quality of the content in this fashion.

6-Don’t put all your eggs into one basket, or one keyword.phrase. As we said before, it’s unlikely for a new website to choose the most popular phrase in a category and come straight in and take #1 on Google. The sites that rank #1 for such phrases are very established and will have thousands of backlinks built up over the years, and for that reason alone will be very difficult to oust. What we can do though, is choose ten less popular phrases, and make a different page for each one, or each pair. We can have the same items for sale etc on each page, but you can make the content custom written for each phrase. This is a great way to exponentially get more traffic, as you will have multiplied your market presence by ten. Obviously, the sky is the limit with this strategy; you could have 50 or 1000 subdomains all pulling in search engine visitors for different phrases. You only need 5 or 10 visitors to each page, and if you have a hundred pages that’s 500 or 1000 visitors each day.

So there you have it-these techniques will take less than an hour to implement, and will guarantee an increase in your search engine rankings-What are you waiting for?

Total Optimizer Pro

<![CDATA[Total Optimizer Pro (T.O.P.) is a search engine optimization software program that performs a thorough analysis on any keyword market. And even though it is an enormous program that does a lot of assessments, it is astonishingly user friendly so that even a new webmaster can learn to use it quickly. Many new users have found this tool to be invaluable.

When you open up the program you have 2 options.

* The first one asks what keywords you want to be on the top of the search engines for.

* The second one asks what URL(s) you want to assess.

After you set this you are presented with a screen which will allow you to tweak your initial selection by choosing which search engine results you want to assess.

You can:

* Choose to do a link partner search and find potential link partners with a minimum PageRank and/or with certain words on the page.

* Do the real analysis and do a Backlink and Anchor Text Analysis (BATA) analysis of the keyword(s) or URL(s) you entered in the first screen.

Press a button and let the program do all the work.

When it is done it will present you with your reports that show just about everything about the URLs being assessed, whether it’s the Top 10 for the keyword you entered or the complete assessment of the URL(s) you entered. Now every detail about this particular market is immediately presented to you.

* The page’s PR
* The Alexa rank
* The title of the page for each backlink
* The number of links pointing to it
* The number of unique domains linking to this page
* The PR of each backlink
* The anchor text of each backlink
* The main keyword focus of the page for each backlink
* The IP address of the backlink
* and a ton of other useful information I use on a daily basis…

Then it provides you with very nice summary reports at the bottom showing you:

* The percentages for anchor text for the backlinks
* The number multiple-linking IPs and multiple linking domains
* And tells you whether this site is likely buying its backlinks or using a classic link exchange campaign.
* And most importantly is actually tells you the steps you need to take to get a top result for this keyword.

Importance of content.

Bez kategorije nema komentara »

<![CDATA[Content is starting to be the name of the game more than ever before. It will grow in importance in the future in my opinioin. Google is now starting to weed out those websites that use Adwords and do not provide enough content. This is a good thing. What the Internet should be about is good content. It is highly important for all of us that people will provide as good content as possible. All of us who surfe the Interet for information and therefore all of us want that surfing to be productive in as shortest time as possible. For websites that provide good information there is hardly any competition if it is done in a right way. What you need to know is the strategy that Google itself provides. So what is this strategy. In Google webmaster guidelines these are the few guidelines they mention. • Create clear hieararchy of pages. • Have at least one link for each page. • Links should be text links, make sure that your title and ALT tags are descriptive. • Make sure to have no broken links, create informative pages and accurate text on every page. relating to the content. • Create one page with all the links in it, have other revelant websites link to your page. • Submit a site map to Google. • What are the keywords, mix them sparingly within the text. • Make pages for users not search engines. • Avoid tricks. • Do not participate in link schemes. • If you participate in affiliate programs, create a website that provides value. • Have someone link to you, who has relevant site. • Don´t buy one of those search engine optimazation services. These are some of the webmaster guidelines that Google provides. It boils to one thing if you want to create a website for business, there is only one way for long term profit. That is to provide content that people likes and therefore the search engines will notice as well. Search engine spiders are becoming very sophisticated. As well there are humans behind some of the selections. So if you create a webstie. Do yourself and others a favor. Create a useful site.

FAQ about Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Bez kategorije nema komentara »

<![CDATA[What is SEO anyway?
Search Engine Optimization (SEO for short) is a highly involved, somewhat lengthy, process designed to elevate an internet website’s major search engine ranking and/or positioning. The major search engines (Google, Microsoft Network (MSN), and Yahoo) make up greater than 70% of search traffic on the internet. This is a common way for people to find others, information, companies, potential business partners, etc. by entering a “keyword” or search term. Typically, the searcher will seek information on their keyword or search term and click on the top results. Thus the higher a site ranks for a given keyword or search term, the better its chances of attracting more visitors to its site.

Why Should I Care about SEO?
If you run a business and have a web presence, don’t you want the most people possible knowing about that business? Wouldn’t it benefit you if your website was able to bring you new leads or develop new customers every day, 24 hours per day? Research has shown that nearly 95% of all search engine users rarely read past the first page of search results. Because of that, it behooves you to have your website on the first page of search results for specific keywords and terms.

Can’t I just Pay for a High Ranking?
No! Organic (or “free”) search listing rankings cannot be purchased. These are “earned” over time via links, content, keyword relevance, page and site descriptions, titles of pages, etc. You can pay for clicks to your website based on specific terms or keywords however these are separate results from the free results people commonly click.

What is Pay-Per-Click?
Pay-per-click is a form of internet advertising where you pay a certain amount for each “click” or “hit” to your website as a result of a person searching for a certain keyword or phrase.

What is Click Fraud?
Click fraud occurs when a person or automated computer script imitates a legitimate search for a keyword or phrase yet clicks on the pay-per-click result for the sole purpose of generating revenue for the search engine or affiliate.

What is a Linking Partner?
A linking partner is a website which provides a link to your site. Some will require a link on your site to theirs in return (a reciprocal link) while others will want to have a link on a third party’s site in exchange for the link to yours. Reciprocal links aren’t as valuable as unique one way links but the more links you have pointing to your site (link popularity), the more “important” the search engines will consider your site.

What is Page Rank?
Page Rank is Google’s proprietary algorithm for determining a site’s importance. It’s expressed as a value from 1-10 with 10 being the most important and most desirable. The algorithm was designed by Larry Page, Google’s co-founder. Page Rank is affected by things such as the number of links pointing to your website, and the amount of unique and relevant content on your website.

What is a Keyword?
A keyword is a typical word or phrase you’d expect people to use when searching for your site. That’s about as simple as we can explain it.

What is Keyword Density?
The number of keywords you use on a particular page in relation to the number of total words on that page. The more keywords you have peppered throughout the page and site, the better your site may rank for that particular term. You must be careful not to load a page with too many keywords, however

Why Website Traffic Is So Important

Bez kategorije nema komentara »

<![CDATA[

If you own or run a website, you probably already know that attracting visitors is much more difficult than creating the actual website. This is why most websites struggle to turn a profit and eventually fail. You can have the greatest looking site in the world, but without traffic, is there any point?

So you might ask "how do I get visitors to my website?" There are countless self-proclaimed "gurus" on the Web that would like you to believe there is a secret formula for generating traffic, and that only they have this "secret". For a price, they will share their secret with you and the traffic floodgates will magically open. If only it were this easy ... we'd all be rich!

There are only two important factors that will determine whether your site ranks well at the search engines; Content and Links. Sure, there are numerous other factors that play a role as well, such as keyword density, meta tags, etc. But the two main aspects of Internet marketing that you must focus on and understand better than anything else are page content and external linking.

Content, content, content. You may have heard the phrase "Content is King". That can't be overstated. Most websites lack quality content. They may have flashy graphics and sound, but none of this will impress the search engines or attract visitors. Quality, text-based content is the only thing the SEs (search engines) really care about on your Web pages. Provide plenty of that and you are on the road to success.

Quality, relevant link exchanges are becoming more important every day. The SEs are placing more emphasis on inbound links in their algorithms, and for good reason. Each inbound link pointing to your site is like a "vote" of confidence in the eyes of the search engines. But not all links are created equal. Links from unrelated sites on completely different topics are almost useless and a waste of your time trying to acquire them. The SEs are looking for relevant, related, quality links from websites in the same niche as yours.

If you're struggling to get your site ranked well in the search engines or are looking to start a new website, do some research into SEO, on-page optimization, and off-page optimization. There is plenty of free information available to help you get started in the right direction. There are no secrets or magic tricks when it comes to ranking well in the search engines; just honest, quality content with relevant, related linking.

New Residents at the Park and a little bit about Adsense

Bez kategorije nema komentara »

<![CDATA[There are some new residents that need to be welcomed into the Blog Park. One is about a City that says it is all about Golden Friendship and the other one is all about the scams and the scamming on the Internet. You may have noticed that I have removed the Adsense code that serves up the Adsense ads and the Google search bar from this site. Google Adsense has removed me from the list of publishers for violations of the TOA. I am not saying they did so unfairly and unjustly. That is not important or even remotely relevant. I am sure that I am not the first one and surely I will not be the last to be removed or as they say, banned. It is no big deal as my adventures into the Adsense Kingdom was a lark, an experiment which although very educational, was very much unprofitable financially and unrewarding psychologically. The big hype about Adsense Wealth is, as far as I have discovered, mostly hype. It is a big way for others who came before and have learned how difficult it is to make money on Adsense, to make money from newbies who know no better. Hard as it may sound, there is a ring of truth to it as I have experienced first hand the hard sell, and the force-feeding of Adsense into all who would give it the time of day. Well, it is another day and another lesson has been learned. I am sure there are people who make a lot of money on Adsense but it seems to me that the people who rake in the big bucks have to employ Black Hat methods to do it. And Adsense is so prone to click fraud and all other forms of fraud that Google has to scramble all over the place to prevent click fraud and other forms of fraud that are far worse than a few clicks. This appears to me very self-evident that Adsense has some really serious flaws which Google needs to address. And I am not talking about Google becoming an even more efficient technological policeman and detective to thwart those that exploit the holes in the Search Egine's Algorithm. If something can be learned, it is that where there is money to be made, there you will always find people devising ingenous ways to get at that money my means that are not intended to be used. I am sure that you have heard or seen the catch phrase, "Content is king!" and very often this is used in a sales page where in the same breath it tries to sell you a thingy or other that will defeat that catch phase and render it inutile and vapid and weak by rewording your content and adding a few more keywords to supposedly make your articles more valuable and palatable to the search engines. This is utterly ridiculous but such is the state of affairs which Adsense has created. Feed the robots with nonsense and they will love you. Is this the future of technology? I can remember Shakespeare saying, "it is like a poor player that struts and frets his hour upon the stage, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing". Google Adsense has problems which are far worse than a few illegal clicks. Ching Recommends Derick's and Congex's Directories.
